Kershaw Compound Serrated Folding Lock Back Serrated Knife
The Compound also comes with a Kershaw pocket clip, which is meant to be clipped with the handle on the inside of your pocket. The clip is not to be worn on a belt, as this is an unsafe way to carry your knife.
About the SpeedSafe System
The patented SpeedSafe knife-opening system helps users open the knife by applying manual pressure to the thumb stud or blade protrusion. The heart of the SpeedSafe system--which is built into many of Kershaw's best-selling knives--is its torsion bar, which keeps gravity from opening the knife. After the blade is out of the handle, the torsion bar moves along its half-moon track and takes over, smoothly opening the blade and locking it into position, ready for use. Although they may look similar at first glance, SpeedSafe knives are not considered switchblades. Unlike a switchblade, SpeedSafe knives do not deploy with the push of a button in the handle or by gravity alone. Instead, the user must manually overcome the torsion bar's resistance, putting the knives outside the federal definition of a switchblade. However, it's the responsibility of the buyer to investigate and comply with the laws and regulations that apply in his or her specific area. Buyers should rest assured, however, that SpeedSafe knives are extremely safe, as they open only when the user manually deploys them, and lock securely into position when open so they don't close accidentally.

Want To Cut Fast? Try Knife Sharpeners
In the market, we have various types of knives which handle the various duties entitled to them. For example in the category of kitchen knives we have the bread knife that is used during breakfast as part of cutlery, we have kitchen knife that is used to cut foods like meat, onions and tomatoes, some knives too are used as tools for instance the hunting knife, machete, scalpel and survival knives.
These different types of knives use different knife sharpeners. In the market, we have a wide range of options to choose from and what needs to be factored is the costs, the type of knife to be sharpened and the procedure of sharpening. You will be required to have basic knowledge of how the knife sharpeners work because you will need to exercise caution as it is a delicate procedure that if not done well you can even get cuts.
You will have to do a research on the best choice of sharpener for use and I will mention but a few in this article, for example, the electric knife sharpeners, sharpening steel, sharpening stone and leather strop
How to Use an Electric knife Sharpener: this type of sharpener uses electricity to function, you insert the knife into one of the slots, and it will be grinded and sharpened to your taste. It is simple to
Use and the procedure take less than a minute to be completed.
How to sharpen using a leather strop, this is also another way where the edge of the blade is held on the leather and pressure is exerted downward as many times as you can, the process is easy and the leather strops are relatively cheap to purchase.
Lastly I will explain how to sharpen a knife using the sharpening stone, this procedure work well and can even be done using a traditional stone, although some companies have designed the stones which can be bought in stores. You will hold the knife against the stone and keeping on stroking it on each side until you are satisfied that it is well sharpened.

A reversible clip lets the knife sit securely and discreetly in your pocket. View larger. SOG Assisted Technology for Speed and Safety
Fast, safe, one-handed opening makes SOG Flash Series knives incredibly easy to handle in a wide variety of situations. Once you start opening the knife, SOG's Patented SOG Assisted Technology, or S.A.T., takes over. Through the balance of opposing high-tension coil springs in the knife, the force to propel the knife open becomes greater than the closing force, and the blade will open on its own. This unique feature means that if you are using your dominant hand on another task, you can just as easily open the SGFSA-98 with your other hand.
For security and peace of mind, S.A.T. was developed in conjunction with a superior locking system. The unique design of S.A.T. knives allows them to use locking mechanisms that are stronger, more reliable, and easier to access ambidextrously than conventional liner locks.
For Flash Series knives, this means the blade is held in place with a reliable piston lock that can be released quickly with a sliding button. An additional safety lock offers extra security when the blade is closed. For easy reference, the lock switch shows red when the knife is ready to open.
Cryogenic Heat Treatment for Sharp, Dependable Blades
Of course the workhorse of any knife is the cutting surface, and SGFSA-98 offers a full, 3.5-inch, half-serrated blade with an elegant satin finish.
SOG's proprietary Cryogenic Heat Treatment process ensures that this blade will stay sharp over the long haul. This intensive process takes more than 48 hours and involves slowly bringing the blade's temperature down to less than -300 degrees Fahrenheit, then bringing it slowly back to room temperature. The stress created through this process relieves the material on an atomic level and increases overall strength and edge retention.
Elegant, Ergonomic Design for Ease of Use
Even if your blade is sharp, it's hard to make the cuts you want if a knife doesn't sit comfortably in your hand. That's why the handle on this knife features a unique, ergonomic contour. Crafted from hard-anodized 6061-T6 aluminum, the handle helps ensure that your knife is both durable and well-balanced. And it is lightly textured to prevent slippage.
At just 4.2 ounces, this folding knife is lightweight and easy to carry. A reversible, bayonet-mounted clip extends from the back of the handle, allowing the knife to sit low in your pocket for the most discreet carry possible.
This knife is backed by a lifetime warranty that protects against defects in workmanship and materials.

The Basics Of Deer Hunting Gear
You also want to understand that the type of deer hunting gear chosen would vary from one state to another. Obviously, if you plan to hunt in regions high in the mountains where the air is thin and cold, then you would need a specific type of gear to protect you for the elements whereas hunting on plains in the Midwestern region of the country may not require as heavy-duty deer hunting gear. Do a little bit of research ahead of time and save yourself some unexpected and unnecessary expenses later. A quick surfing of the internet, visit to a local hunting supply store or pro shop will often yield all the information you could need.
The following are the five must-have pieces of deer hunting gear, which could be added onto at any time.
1. Weapon- No matter if you plant to hunt with a bow, rifle, shotgun or muzzleloader, it is essential that you choose the weapon which best suits the conditions of the hunt and you, the hunter. Additionally, the right weapon should be easy to carry and most importantly, safe! The goal is to use a delivery system that is accurate and fast, but also something designed for hunting at a distance.
2. Clothing- One of the most common mistakes seen when people start buying deer hunting gear is skimping on quality of clothing. Deer have keen senses, so you definitely need something camouflaged from head to toe. For this, you want clothing that would easily blend in with the environment so choose the color accordingly. There are many vendors out there, but two of my favorites are Real Tree & Mossy Oak. Be sure that the clothing is durable enough to survive the turrain you will be hunting as well as protect you from the elements you will face; oh and lets not forget they have to be comfortable.
3. Scent Masks- Another item you want to include in your deer hunting gear is a product that would mast scents that deer might otherwise detect. Therefore, you want to choose a spray scent masker to hide body odors. Again, there are many top products on the market today. My favorite is Dead Down Wind. Also, for the best results, you should use an entire scent control system. Launder your hunting clothes in the proper scent masking detergent, shower before the hunt with scent masking body wash and lastly, spray off with field spray before you head out. Remember it is best never to chew gum, chew on candy, smoke, use perfume, cologne, lotion, etc. these will only ensure you won't see any deer!
4. Backpack- When in the field hunting, you will be carrying a variety of items such as the scent masker, ammunition, flashlight, compass, first-aid kit, binoculars, camera and batteries, rain gear, map, small thermal blanket, hunting knife, lip balm, bottled water, animal calls and so on so a full-sized external frame backpack would keep everything organized and within reach.
5. Map- The last thing you definitely want as a part of your deer hunting gear is a map, along with scouting information. While this should be a must whenever you hunt, it is imperative when hunting in a different state or area which you are not familiar with. With this, you would have the ability to track where you have already been, areas that offer good potential.
All of this deer hunting gear combined certainly improves your chance of ending up with a trophy deer.

The SOG Swedge II makes use of the trademarked BESH Wedge blade geometry invented by custom knife designer and maker Brent Beshara. Backed by Beshara's experience as a Canadian military operator, Special Forces member, and martial artist, this unique wedge-shaped blade design delivers superior tip strength for increased reliability.
The Swedge II's 4.75-inch blade is crafted from strong AUS-8 stainless steel, and its grind lines are different from the grind lines on knives of any other shape, providing sharp, functional edges that work with the knife's overall design to make your life easier.
Cryogenic Heat Treatment for a Sharp, Dependable Blade
SOG's unique cryogenic heat treatment process increases the toughness and wear resistance of the blade. The blade's temperature is slowly taken down to less than -300 degrees Fahrenheit and then slowly brought back up to room temperature. This stress relieves the material on an atomic level and increases overall strength and edge retention. This means the knife edge stays sharp longer with significantly less micro-fracturing and edge-chipping.
Strong, Full Tang G10 Handle Delivers Nonslip Grip
All SOG Swedge knives offer a full tang handle design, which improves the balance of the knife and adds strength and durability for heavy-duty, long-term use. And, thanks to the nonslip G10 material that makes up the rest of the Swedge's handle, you can count on a secure grip for safe, accurate cuts in all sorts of weather conditions.
G10 is a durable, reinforced material made up of fiberglass soaked in resin, then highly compressed and baked. This process makes it impervious to liquid and physically stable under extreme changes in temperature, which makes your Swedge knife an ideal long-term partner on tough missions.
Lightweight, Well-Balanced Body and Kydex Sheath
The Swedge II's ergonomic body makes it easy to manipulate for quick cuts, while a well-placed finger cutout and broad rasping on the spine of the blade make it easy to apply additional force or more precise directional guidance when necessary. For ease in carrying, this compact tactical knife weighs in at just 7.5 ounces, and it comes with a heavy duty Kydex sheath that offers multiple mounting options.
The BH02-K Swedge II Fixed-Blade Knife is backed by a lifetime warranty that protects against defects in manufacturing and materials.

After all, your buddies are taking time out of their lives and busy schedules to be part of your wedding ceremony. They may be a little stressed out about this so it is only fitting that you show you appreciate for their efforts. I mean, really. Most of your pals will be getting into a tux for the first times in their lives. That is a huge deal for a guy. Most guys don't get that dressed up for anyone!
The dads, best man, the groomsmen, ushers, and ringbearer boy are all guys that the groom should definitely not forget. You can also get a modest gift for any special reader, photographer, pastor or priest that is putting forth an extra effort above and beyond their usual scope.
Groomsmen gifts need not be overly complicated or expensive. They should also not be something you drive yourself nuts picking out. Here are 10 suggestions for can't-go-wrong groomsmen gifts. These are the most popular that have stood the test of time and wedding tradition:
1. Liquor flasks. This is a favorite of the younger crowd. If given early enough, the flasks can be used during the bachelor party. Although, most guys will save this one for the wedding reception. Some receptions will have a limited bar or no bar, so sometimes you have to bring your party with you for maximum fun. Get these flasks personalized with names, monograms or initials for a personal touch.
2. Glass mugs. Most glass mugs come in many sizes, with 25 oz and 13 oz. being the most popular. This is a good choice if you have someone in your wedding party that might not use a flask. A glass mug can be used for beer, soda, water, sports drinks, or any beverage at all. The smaller 13 oz. size is good for the ringbearer. You can give the big guys the 25 oz. mug and the smaller 13 oz. version to the little guy. Glass mugs can typically be engraved with names, titles, initials or dates in one or two lines to commemorate your special event and good times.
3. Pocket watches. Pocket watches are cool in an old-school sort of way. They are one of those gifts that no one would ever think to buy themselves, but when someone gets one they think it's a neat gift. A pocket watch is a throw-back to yesteryear. It's an old-fashioned twist on a modern item. Everyone uses a watch or clock. A pocketwatch can be carried daily in your pocket or kept for special occasion use. Engrave initials on these for a traditional look.
4. Money clips. There is a wide price range on money clips. You can get basic silver plated money clips for under $20. Or, you can spend $400+ for a thick 14K solid gold money clip. Whatever your budget, a money clip is a sophisticated gift. Sometimes a wallet is too bulky. If a guy has a money clip, he grabs some cash, his license and maybe one credit card, and he's traveling light and ready to roll. Initials, monogram, name or a short message is all that needs to be engraved for that extra special touch.
5. Baseball bats and balls. Wood baseball bats are practical and special. They typically can be personalized with title (such as Best Man or Groomsman), recipient's name, and bride and groom's name, and wedding date. There is a lot of engraving real estate on a bat so you can fit a lot of information on there. Baseballs are also good for saying a lot in terms of personalization. You can get full size 34" bats for your guys and maybe a mini wood bat or baseball for the ringbearer.
6. Leatherman multitools. Guys love gadgets. Leatherman tools fit the bill perfectly. The Leatherman Micra and Squirt won't break the bank at around $20-$30. The Micra and Squirt are keychain size multitools. Or, go for a full size pliers with the Fuse, Blast or Wave. There are about a dozen models of Leatherman tools available. Pricing ranges from about $20 up to $100. All models can be engraved. This is certainly one of those items that a guy will keep forever. A tool is handy and will be used many times over the years.
7. Zippo Lighters. You don't have a be a smoker to appreciate a Zippo lighter. There are hundreds of designs to choose from. You can pick sports team lighters for sports fans. Or go with basic chrome or brass lighters for everyone. It's up to you. Here's a chance to get really personal and unique, yet everyone gets the same thing: a lighter. You can pick out a special design lighter for each person that holds a special meaning or fits the recipient's personality. Engraving makes this gift choice a winner.
8. Victorinox Swiss Army Knives. Let me say it again. Guys love gadgets. And there is nothing more gadgety than a Swiss Army Knife. Move over MacGyver. We got some groomsmen that need awesome pocket knives. Swiss Army Knives are not just knives. You can get basic models with a few features like a blade, scissors, toothpick and tweezers. You can go all out and get a model with over 50 features. It is all up to you and your budget. Engraving on the handle or blade is possible.
9. Cigar Holders. If you need an excuse to smoke some cigars, then a wedding is the answer. Hand out fine cigars to your buddies. But, make sure these cigars are placed into cigar tubes that have each been personalized with your guy's name or initials. This is the ultimate in class.
10. Pub Signs and Coasters. A personalized bar sign and matching coasters will elicit the "wow" response from any guy. Pick out a sign with a graphics design that matches his personality. Hunting scene, martini glass, beach scene, automobile motif, pool table theme, and more are all available. Matching coasters can be added for a complete bar package. Starting in the low $30's, these are definitely gifts that you can't find at the mall. And, personalized coasters? These are the bomb! Your guys will love hanging these in their dens, kitchens, rooms, anywhere in their house and seeing their own names on them. The signs and coasters are colorful and unique and make for a great gift idea.
You can't go wrong with any choices in the top ten groomsmen gift ideas listed above. Another surefire way to stay the course is to go with the same gift for all the guys on your list. Everyone gets the same gift. This way one person won't get something cheaper or more expensive than the next guy. Each gift can be made unique to the recipient by the engraving and personalization. Be sure to pick up some gift cards, gift bags and tissue paper at the nearest greeting card store to go for maximum presentation power when you get ready to present your gifts.
