The SOG FSA-7 Flash I Knife Offers:

- A strong, reliable blade locking system
- A contoured, glass-reinforced Zytel handle
A strong, reliable piston lock holds the blade in place while you cut. View larger.
The 2.5-inch, heat-treated blade provides you with a versatile, dependable cutting edge. View larger.
The lock switch shows red when your knife is ready to open. View larger.
A reversible clip lets the knife sit securely and discreetly in your pocket. View larger.
SOG Assisted Technology Increases Speed, Safety, and Usability
When you go to unfold the FSA-7's blade, SOG's patented S.A.T. (SOG Assisted Technology) takes over. High-tension coil springs propels the blade open, so you can easily access the FSA-7's blade with just one hand.
Additionally, the unique design of S.A.T. offers security and peace of mind by incorporating locking mechanisms that are stronger, more reliable, and easier to access than other mechanisms. For Flash Series knives, this means the blade is held in place with a reliable piston lock that can be quickly released with a sliding button. An additional safety lock offers extra security when the blade is closed, and for easy reference, the lock switch shows red when the knife is ready to be opened.
Cryogenic Heat Treatment Guarantees a Sharp, Dependable Blade
The FSA-7 offers a full, 2.5-inch, satin-finished, AUS8 stainless steel straight blade that has undergone SOG's proprietary Cryogenic Heat Treatment process, which ensures that the blade will stay sharp over the long haul. This intensive process takes more than 48 hours and involves slowly reducing the blade's temperature to less than -300 degrees Fahrenheit, then slowly heating the blade to room temperature. The stress created by this process strengthens the steel on an atomic level and increases the blade's overall durability and edge retention.
Ergonomic, Lightweight Design Ensures Comfortable Use
Even if your blade is sharp, it's hard to make precise cuts if your knife doesn't fit comfortably in your hand. That's why this knife's handle is ergonomically contoured. Crafted from tough, glass-reinforced Zytel, the textured handle is also slip-free and well-balanced.
And at just 1.3 ounces, this knife is lightweight and easy to carry. A reversible, bayonet-mounted clip extends from the back of the handle, allowing the knife to sit low in your pocket for the most discreet carry possible.
This knife is backed by a lifetime warranty that protects against defects in manufacturing and materials.

About Swiss Army Knives
In 1884, Swiss cutler Karl Elsener set up shop in Ibach-Schwyz, installing a waterwheel in Tobelbach Brook to run his grinding and polishing machines. Thus began what would become the international brand name Victorinox, a combination of Victoria, for Elsener's mother, and "inox," or stainless steel. Today, Victorinox produces watches, luggage, clothing, and, famously, Swiss Army Knives. The original product dates to 1897, when Elsener patented the Swiss Officer's and Sports Knife he supplied to the Swiss Army. Following World War II, American servicemen and women shopping in PX stores shortened the name to Swiss Army Knife, which lives on in English-speaking countries around the world and has become a metaphor for versatility.

The Charm Behind Antiques And Collectibles
For those who've grown up watching super heroes like Superman, Spiderman, and G. I. Joe collecting comics and toys of these super heroes is great fun. It's not only the Spiderman and the Superman, who's a favorite of collectors, but also the Star Trek Crew, Power Rangers, Star Wars, characters which have become popular collectibles. The G. I. Joe, Captain Action, The Six Million Dollar Man, The Lone Ranger and the Mego line of action figures are famous as well. Most of these action figures were produced during the 70's and the 80's. Some of these collectibles are said to be sold for over a 1000 dollars. Of course it is important to buy one without being conned. There is a rating system that helps collectors determines the price and condition of the collectibles. It ranges from C-1 to C-10. The best is the mint in box or mint in card. This condition ensures that the toys are preserved in the original bubble wrap that they were bought, and sell for a very good price.
For those who'd love to be different collecting antique knives and swords can be fun. There are a number of antique shops that promote antique knives and swords. You could get anything from pocket knives, to hunting knives, classic gun knives, boar knives, throwing spikes and even stilettos.
If history interests you, you could collect antiques from the lost world. There's everything from antiques that date back to the roman era, or antiques that are from the pre-Columbian era and even the Mayan civilization.
As earlier said, it is easy to be conned when buying these. A number of websites offer to sell antiques, but they are either over priced or fake. Before you buy an antique make sure you know enough about its history. When it comes to buying antiques and collectibles knowledge is power! You could buy these through auction websites. Flea markets are also a great place to buy them.
Although the dollar value of these antiques and collectibles cannot be denied, the thrill of owning something that's unique is unmatched.

From the Manufacturer
Who is Victorinox?
Although Victorinox is known the world over as the creator of the Original Swiss Army Knife, the company started out in 1884 as a cutlery workshop. By the time company creator Karl Elsener delivered his first pocket knife to the Swiss Army, his cutlery business was already booming. Over the next century, Victorinox cutlery became a top-rated choice among professionals worldwide, with over 300 blades to offer.
Victorinox knives have regularly appeared as highly ranked and recommended kitchen tools in Cook's Illustrated, Men's Health, The Cincinnati Enquirer, New York Magazine, and Natural Health, just to name a few. In 2009, the company announced a partnership with professional chef, Daniel Humm, of Eleven Madison Park in New York City. In addition, building on the success of its cutlery business, Victorinox has brought all the same quality and expertise to a wider range of products and accessories, including other kitchen tools, pocket tools, watches, luggage, and clothing.
Who is R.H. Forschner?
Victorinox had been a staple in European commercial cutlery for over 50 years when approached by New York's R.H. Forschner, known since 1855 as a builder of scales for butchers, to be their sole cutlery supplier. The two companies joined forces in 1937, and R.H. Forschner subsequently became North America's dominant professional brand, as ubiquitous in the bustling meatpacking plants of the Midwest as it is in the gleaming, four-star restaurant kitchens of Midtown Manhattan.
As a division of Victorinox/Swiss Army Brands, R.H. Forschner marketed cutlery under the brand name "RH Forschner by Victorinox" and distributed to the commercial, food service, and retail trade classes. That brand has been considered a top choice of professionals worldwide with over 300 styles of blades bearing the R.H. Forschner name. However, in 2009, in conjunction with Victorinox's 125th anniversary, the company, Victorinox Swiss Army, Inc., has decided to remove the "RH Forschner" name from all blades. Blades thenceforth only include the "Victorinox" name.
What is a stamped blade?
A stamped knife can usually be identified by the absence of a bolster. Stamped blades are cut into their shapes from cold-rolled pieces of steel and then ground, tempered, and sharpened. Creating them requires many less steps than forging and results in lighter, narrower blades. Some professionals prefer the thicker, heavier forged blades, but many pros, who spend much of their day cutting and slicing, enjoy a lighter knife since it's less fatiguing and easier to manipulate at speed.

SOG Assisted Technology Increases Speed, Safety, and Usability
When you go to unfold the TFSA-97's blade, SOG's patented S.A.T. (SOG Assisted Technology) takes over. High-tension coil springs propels the blade open, so you can easily access the TFSA-97's blades with just one hand.
Additionally, the unique design of S.A.T. knives offers security and peace of mind by incorporating locking mechanisms that are stronger, more reliable, and easier to access than conventional liner locks. For Flash I Series knives, this means the blade is held in place with a reliable piston lock that can be quickly released with a sliding button. An additional safety lock offers extra security when the blade is closed, and for easy reference, the lock switch shows red when the knife is ready to be opened.
Cryogenic Heat Treatment and TiNi Coating Guarantee a Sharp, Durable Blade
The TFSA-97 offers a full, 2.5-inch, AUS8 stainless steel blade that has undergone SOG's patented Cryogenic Heat Treatment process, which ensures that this blade will stay sharp over the long haul. This intensive process takes more than 48 hours and involves slowly reducing the blade's temperature to less than -300 degrees Fahrenheit, then slowly heating the blade to room temperature. The stress created by this process strengthens the steel on an atomic level and increases the blade's overall durability and edge retention.
In addition to having undergone the Cryogenic Heat Treatment Process, this knife was coated in proprietary titanium nitride (TiNi), of the toughest coatings that can be applied to steel. TiNi boasts extreme hardness, is exceptionally scratch and peel resistant, helps increase steel's longevity, and ensures low reflectivity.
Durable, Ergonomic Design Ensures Years of Effortless Use
Even if your blade is sharp, it's hard to make precise cuts if your knife doesn't fit comfortably in your hand. That's why this knife's handle is ergonomically contoured. Crafted from tough, glass-reinforced Zytel, the textured handle is also slip-free and well-balanced.
At just 1.3 ounces, this folding knife is lightweight and easy to carry. A reversible, bayonet-mounted clip extends from the back of the handle, allowing the knife to sit low in your pock ...

The Gerber FAST Draw 22-47161 Folding Knife offers:
- A 2.99-inch serrated, drop-point blade
- Strong, high-carbon stainless steel
- F.A.S.T. spring assisted opening
- A durable, glass-filled nylon handle
The FAST Draw knife is durable, lightweight, and reliable. View larger.
View larger. Innovative Technology for Quick, Reliable Deployment
The FAST Draw relies on Forward Action Spring Technology, or F.A.S.T., that was designed exclusively for Gerber and patented by famed Oregon knife maker Butch Vallotton. Butch is known as "Mr. Mechanism" in the custom-knife world, a tribute to his unique designs and exceptional understanding of opening and locking mechanisms. This new, proprietary blade opening concept means that you can deploy your knife quickly and easily using just one hand.
Of course, when a job calls for more deliberate actions, you can also open this knife in the traditional way, using the thumb stud. This is the closest you can get to a street legal switch-blade.
Convenient, Safe, and Dependable Over Time
A sharp knife is not only more useful than a dull knife, it's also safer to use. With a strong, sharp blade, you can make the cuts you want quickly and efficiently. That's why Gerber uses a high-carbon stainless steel blade on the FAST Draw. This large, 2.99-inch blade offers a serrated cutting surface that is perfect for tough jobs like rope and scaling fish. FAST Draw is the first in a series of knives utilizing "Fast Technonogy." Others include the Mini-Fast, Draw, Aluminum Presto 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, Vallotton, PR2.5 and PR3.0, Convert Fast, Mini Convert Fast, Answer 3.25, Tanto and Drop Point F.A.S.T.
This drop point blade, which is stronger than the clip-point style blades used on many pocket knives, fits neatly in the handle when not in use, so you don't have to worry about damaging it or hurting yourself.
The knife is precisely balanced to sit comfortably in your hand and features a glass-filled nylon handle for strength and durability. Texturing on the handle surface ensures a secure grip for improved control.
At just 3.6 ounces, the slim FAST Draw knife is light enough to take with you anywhere. And with the included sturdy pocket clip, you always know right where your knife is.
Gerber's History of Ingenuity
Savvy. Moxie. Craftsmanship. Attention to detail. These are just a few of the company traits that contributed to Gerber's emergence as a world leader in outdoor gear. Joseph Gerber started Portland, Oregon's Gerber Advertising back in 1910, and one Christmas, he hired a local knife-maker to craft 25 sets of kitchen cutlery as client gifts. The knives were so popular, Mr. Gerber ultimately left his agency to launch Gerber Legendary Blades in 1939.
For more than half a century, Gerber Legendary Blades has been helping people fend for themselves. Gerber designs popular, dependable tools and knives along with other outdoor gear that helps users accomplish whatever tasks they may be faced with, promoting the lost art of self-reliance.

Victorinox Heritage
The Victorinox Swiss Army Knife is more than 100 years old, and was legally registered on June 12, 1897. More than 34,000 of these useful pocket-size multi-tools with leave the factory in central Switzerland each day, and feature the distinctive Swiss cross. Ninety percent are for export to more than 100 different countries and serve as ambassadors for Switzerland.
Karl Elsener, the company founder, wanted to create work in sparsely industrialized central Switzerland and counter the emigration spawned by unemployment. To go from hand-crafting to industrial production was at the time adventurous and required enormous determination. Today, this family business in Schwyz provides 950 jobs. After the soldier's knife, which every recruit receives upon entering the army, Karl Elsener developed a new, elegant and lightweight pocket knife, with six practical tools. He called this new model the "Officers and Sports Knife."
After an unparalleled success story around the world, the Victorinox Swiss Army Knife is even orbiting the earth as part of the standard equipment of the Space Shuttle crew. The knife has also been successfully proven on expeditions: in the arctic ice of the North Pole; on the highest peak on earth, Mount Everest; in the tropical rain forests of the Amazon, and elsewhere. Time and again, it has been a life saver in situations of extreme danger and great need. The New York Museum of Modern Art and the State Museum for Applied Art in Munich have selected it for their collection of excellence in design, and, since Lyndon B. Johnson, US presidents present guests with Victorinox pocket knives.
Today, the Officers' Knife is available in more than 100 different models. Each knife must undergo seamless quality controls before being released for sale.
